Description

2/5/2017 Update: I just posted a quick process overview of this piece on my blog angryfungus.blogspot.com/2017/…
I've decided to update my blog more frequently (like, a few times a week, as opposed to a few times a year!) If I get more activity there, it will certainly inspire me to make more detailed process posts, and do them more frequently!

Commission piece for a 5e D&D character. It was tons of fun to work on, especially all the little details and doodads making up her scrappy armor.

Only $90! I gotta raise my prices... :p

For those interested, here's the physical description I was given by the client (plus some backstory and a character sheet!):

----------------

Kaa is thin but her active lifestyle and constant wandering has hardened her muscles to a lean perfection. Usually her long blonde hair is muddled with various sticks or leaves that got haphazardly tangled in. She wears a sun-bleached skull of a large bear on her head as both a tribute to a fellow traveler and a reminder that all things come to an end. Her only weapons are a short bow she keeps slung around her shoulders and a gnarled walking staff while her defense is a set of leather armor she was able to procure in her travels. A single bear totem necklace is her only accessory. Still, her most obvious feature is her skin. She has dark copper skin that is often mixed with a “port-wine stain” birthmark over her body that is a green color. A good portion of her face is touched by this interesting feature, starting near her scalp above her right eye and winding down towards her mouth before following her right jawline and down her neck. Still she’s never taken much notice of it and is often seen showing her face proudly.

As she’s still young, she retains a child-like demeanor and personality. Tending to laugh often and, more often than not, at other people’s expense. She’s very happy go lucky but if angered has a hard time reigning in her feelings. She’s very open and accepting but believes that the world needs balance between nature and culture. She doesn’t put much stock in other gods and would seem clueless to the customs and practices of many places.

I'm using this as my halfling druid in an Eberron campaign. The skull is from her favorite clawfoot dino, killed in the Mourning.
