While shovelling a mysterious load of coal at a factory, laborer Samuel Smythe was stricken with a terrible condition that allowed him to ignite himself like some sort of human furnace. Hoping to turn Smythe into an enforcer to help stamp out nascent labor unions, his scheming but brilliant boss contrived a steam-powered iron suit, run on Smythe's own flames, that would grant him super strength and allow him to spew flames from the suit's vents. But Smythe broke free and now stalks London's streets, stamping out injustice as...The Robber Baron!
